Given the tenor of the times, the roll-out of “Virginia is For Lovers” appealed to younger consumers who were the market of the future. The phrase came from a creative team headed by George Woltz of Martin & Woltz Inc., the Richmond advertising agency that won the VA State Travel Service (VTC) account in 1968. Now they are a state for lovers. Everyone knows Virginia is for Lovers, but do you know just how much there is to do in every Virginia vacation experience? In a single VA vacation, you can attend one of many summer festivals, catch some rays at a beautiful VA beach, lake, or river, enjoy a world-class winery experience, find your vibe in a trendy neighborhood, keep cool at one of Virginia's mountain destinations, and more!
