Grasp your heel and the middle part of your foot with one hand. With your other hand, use your thumb and middle finger to grasp your big toe and gently pull it straight out and away from your foot. Hold the stretch for 15 to 30 seconds. Repeat 2 to 4 times. Keeping your toes relaxed and flexible can also reduce your risk of injury. Most toe stretches improve flexibility and mobility. Others also increase strength. Some are good for specific conditions, such as bunions and plantar fasciitis. Lift your sore foot on a chair and hold it still where the toes meet your foot. Using your other hand, gently pull your big toe forward and flex it down. You should feel a gentle stretch. Hold for 10-20 seconds. Sit up straight in a chair, with your feet flat on the floor.
