I live in a Great State and will never move again. Virginia is a pretty good State to live in and Scott County is a great area to move to. I have plenty of privacy and I live on a farm. After living in the city for a few years. I am glad where I am now. and I find that living on a farm is a nice way of life. Now, I can let my dogs run free. It tickles me to see some new places and faces. I am sure it will tickle you pink as well. Now, I got tickled when I first moved here. You can see this beautiful view of the mountains from my front porch.
Scott County was formed by an act of the General Assembly on December 23, 1815, from parts of Washington, Lee, and Russell Counties, and was named for General Winfield. Its area in 1835 was 35 square miles. In 1853, part of it was taken to form part of Wise, Virginia. The minimum combined 2024 sales tax rate for VA is 5.3%. This is the total of State and County sales tax rates. The VA State sales tax rate is currently 4.3%. Blackmore is thought to be the oldest in Southwest VA. While the origin of Ft. Blackmore remains somewhat a mystery, the location of the fort is known. The fort stood on an ancient flood plain on the North Bank of the Clinch River, almost directly across the river from the small stream known as Rocky Branch. The Dickenson, formed in 1881 from parts of Buchanan is the youngest area.
Like I said before. I live in a Great State and will never move again. This is a perfect place to move to and start a family Now, I like living in Scott County, Virginia. it tickles me to go shopping at some of their stores and I am sure will tickle you pink as well. I got tickled to learn that the cost of living isn't that high here. Now, I have 1 acre of land, and still cheaper than a few lots in the city. Now, I do love this way of life, and is a great State to live in. You can see this beautiful view of the mountains from my front porch. It is nice to wake up to this beautiful view. Love it!
